Tijuana's industrial parks are built in Tilt Up: reinforced concrete panels cast on the floor and lifted into place. When a plant changes product, grows or needs a new dock, the panel has to be opened without compromising it. GPC Construcciones has been doing exactly that for over fifteen years in the plants of Otay, El Florido, Pacífico and La Mesa.
The work is done with a rail-mounted wall saw: the blade enters from both faces until the cuts meet, the opening comes out plumb and square, and the panel is freed in blocks removed by forklift or crane. No breakers, no airborne dust, no stopping the production line.

The panel is cut through from both faces; where thickness demands it, we bring in diamond wire.

The rail guarantees a straight, plumb opening, ready for the frame or roll-up door with no patching.

Yes, as long as the opening is signed off by the structural engineer. We cut exactly on the approved layout and set the anchors for the reinforcing frame.
A typical dock opening is cut and removed in one working day, provided there is outside access for the lifting equipment.
No. The work area is cordoned and protected; the rest of the building keeps running. Where the cut faces a clean area we seal with poly sheeting.
It is broken into blocks within the capacity of the available equipment and removed by forklift, crane or dolly, depending on weight and access.
