Concrete Surface Grinding and Floor Preparation
We prepare the surface so the coating bonds: levelling, pore opening and removal of old paint or epoxy.
A coating almost always fails for the same reason: the surface was not prepared. Grinding removes the laitance from the concrete, opens the pore and leaves the anchor profile that an epoxy or polyurethane system needs to actually bond.
GPC Construcciones grinds concrete, stone, brick and metal surfaces with diamond disc equipment and vacuum extraction. We level high spots and proud joints, strip paint, adhesive and previous coatings, and hand the slab over ready for polishing, sealing or coating.
What this service includes
Correct anchor profile
Ground to the profile the coating data sheet specifies — no less, no more.
Slab levelling
Proud joints, steps and high spots that obstruct traffic or equipment installation are ground down.
Coating removal
Paint, old epoxy, vinyl adhesive and resin are removed without chemical stripping.
Vacuum extraction
Grinding is dry with dust capture, so it can be done indoors without invading the rest of the building.

Questions about surface grinding
We work with a vacuum connected to the machine and HEPA filtration, so dust is captured at source. It is viable in an occupied building.
Always on new slabs — laitance gives no bond — and whenever there is a previous coating, sealer or oil contamination.
It leaves a prepared surface. If an exposed finish is wanted, the process continues with polishing and sealing.
