Epoxy Anchoring for Rebar and Bolts in Concrete

Dowels, bolts and base plates set with structural resin, with a clean hole and the correct embedment.

Epoxy anchors fail for two reasons and neither is the resin: a poorly cleaned hole and the wrong embedment depth. GPC Construcciones installs epoxy anchors in Tijuana following the full procedure — drilling to the data-sheet diameter, blowing and brushing, injecting from the bottom and respecting cure time — because that is where pull-out capacity is won.

We set dowels for structural extensions, bolts and machine base plates, handrail and steel structure anchors, and connections between new and existing concrete. Drilling is done with diamond bits, which leave the hole on size and without microcracking around it.

What this service includes

Clean holes

Blown and brushed per the data sheet. A dusty hole loses a large share of its bond capacity.

Data-sheet embedment

Embedment comes from the calculation, not from the length of rebar that happened to be on hand.

Diamond drilling

No percussion: the hole neither spalls nor cracks the surrounding concrete.

Cure time respected

The anchor is not loaded early. The schedule adapts to the cure, not the other way round.

Typical applications

  • Dowels for structural extensions
  • Machine and equipment base plates
  • Steel structure anchorage to concrete
  • Handrails, stairs and safety elements
  • Connections between new and existing concrete
  • Anchoring reinforcing frames in new openings
  • Fixing supports and racking
  • Structural strengthening and repair

Questions about epoxy anchoring

Mechanical anchors work by expansion and need edge distance; epoxy anchors work by chemical bond and allow deep embedment and smaller edge distances.

It depends on the resin and ambient temperature. In Tijuana it cures faster in summer; in winter more time is needed before loading.

Only with resins qualified for cracked concrete and with the engineer's sign-off. An anchor in sound concrete is not the same as one in a tension zone.

Yes, when the project requires it or the supervisor asks for it as verification.
